James Sexton, Chairman of Judges, Creative Director, OgilvyOne Worldwide, London

James had an early lesson in marketing when as a student he imported Balinese boxer shorts and sold them at the famous Camden Market.

Honing his sales patter and copywriting skills through D&AD advertising workshops he went on to work at some of the best London ad agencies.

However it was the chance ‘to make work that makes people do something’ in Digital and Direct that had him captivated.

He is currently a Creative Director at OgilvyOne, working on a broad range of business including behavioural change campaigns for Public Health England.

He has won awards at lots of major advertising festivals including D&AD, Cannes, Campaign BIG and the DMAs. He loves creative problem solving and staying curious about everything.

Frank Walters, Convenor of Judges, Executive Creative , Director & Chairman, Frontera London

Frank began his career in advertising with stints at a number of consumer agencies including Wasey’s and Dorland. He then moved into healthcare advertising, joining Paling Ellis DDB as Creative Group Head. In the mid 90’s, when the agency became TBWA\Paling Walters, he was promoted to Creative Director where he worked on Rx brands including Canesten, Zantac and Viagra.

He also worked extensively on OTC and consumer brands, producing over 15 TV commercials for brands including Canesten, Flixonase and Antistax. In 2011, he formed Frontera, a new health and wellbeing agency, with Craig Mills, where he holds the position of Executive Creative Director.

In the 25 years he has spent in health communications he has won over 320 creative awards.

Martin Percy, Director / Creative, Unit 9

Martin Percy directs interactive films – and only interactive films. His most notable piece in healthcare was a piece called ‘Lifesaver’ which teaches CPR.

He has also worked with institutions including Tate Modern, the BFI and NT; and with people including Ian McKellen, Derek Jacobi, Gordon Ramsay, Julie Walters, Tracey Emin and Jonathan Ross. Lifesaver won ‘Best of Show’ 2014 for advertising to consumers in the IPA Best of Health Awards 2014. In addition, his work has won four Webby Awards, a Grand Clio, three Emmy nominations and three BAFTA nominations.

She has worked on European and global brand campaigns for some of the top 10 pharmaceutical companies worldwide including GSK, Abbvie, Merck, Galderma, Genzyme, Smith & Nephew, Crucell, Pfizer, and Sanofi.

Vicki is a highly versatile creative lead, heading up a team of designers in creative ideation and execution to create compelling, thought provoking and award-winning work.

Martin Hafley, Creative Director, DDB Remedy London

After being told by his tutors at art school that he would never make it in the industry, Martin has spent the last 16 years trying to prove them wrong.

An early affair with consumer goods – which led to a longer term relationship in healthcare communication – has seen Martin work across many therapy areas, bringing success to some notable clients and brands.

Now, as Creative Director at DDB Remedy, he works with some of the brightest minds in the business, spending his time inspiring bigger, bolder and better ideas, for the benefit of all.

Richard Rayment, Creative Director UK, inVentiv Health Communications Europe

Richard started his career as a Copywriter in consumer advertising in the mid 1980s, but has now been in the healthcare communications sector for a quarter of a century. Stints at Grey Healthcare, Plexus and Paling Walters were followed by a year at General Advertising as head of copy and a further year as co-creative director. In 1997, Richard became a founding member of Junction 11 Advertising.

After almost 15 years as co-creative director of Junction 11 and GSW Junction 11, he became sole UK creative director of inVentiv Health Communications.

Richard is approaching a career total of 400 creative awards, which include a Best of Show at the internationally recognized Mobius awards in Hollywood and three pan-European accolades at the acclaimed Epica awards. Furthermore, Richard has had the honour of serving on several international advertising awards juries, and in 2010 was invited to be convenor of judges at the IPA Best of Health awards.

Adrian Parr, European Creative Director, McCann Health

Adrian has almost 20 years of healthcare experience. He holds an honours degree in graphic design. He has held the Executive Creative Director position at McCann Health for six and a half years and in March this year was promoted to European Executive Creative Director.

Lee Williams, Executive Creative Director, Sudler London
(Supported by Dale Choate, Associate Creative Director, Sudler London)

After escaping a brief career in pharmaceutical manufacturing and research neurogenetics, Lee began his advertising career as a Copywriter, around 20 years ago.

He spent 12 years at an independent healthcare agency where he created award-winning campaigns in every sector of the category –  from Rx-only secondary and primary care brands to consumer awareness, OTC and vet. Lee helped pioneer the development of consumer disease awareness, with a number of high-profile campaigns for top five pharma companies. This included a string of big-budget TVCs, as well as the  development of one of the first ever consumer-health websites back in the late 90s!

Determined to live without eating or wearing animals, Lee is particularly proud of a recent global charity campaign he helped develop for Animals Asia which raised over $5M to help end bear-bile farming in Nanning, China.

When not obsessing about the importance of great ideas – strategically and creatively, Lee can be found chasing his young son around the waves and pistes of Europe.

Marc Greener, Associate Creative Director, Saatchi & Saatchi Health UK

Marc has worked in health advertising for almost 10 years, initially with Paling Walters where he cut his teeth on pharma and consumer brands as a junior copywriter.

He joined Saatchi & Saatchi Health in 2012 and has played a crucial role in revitalising their creative output, moving them from a traditional creative agency to one that creates immersive ideas and experiences across health and into wellness.

As Associate Creative Director, he takes charge of a mixed bag of clients, including Nestlé, Merck Serono Fertility and the United Nations.

Neill Rogers, Creative Director, Publicis Life Brands Resolute London

Over the last 20+ years Neill has written and directed content for all types of advertising. He has created award-winning work at agencies including JWT, Ogilvy and FCB Healthcare.

In 2011, Neill left New York and moved to the UK where he’s currently a creative director at Publicis Life Brands London. His recent awards include: Creative Circle, Global, Clio, IPA, Rx, and shortlisted at Cannes.

He has produced campaigns for major global brands including Domino’s, Lubriderm, Scott Tissue, Enbrel, Pradaxa and Concerta.

A graduate of the UNC Chapel Hill, Neill still sports a slightly southern American accent.

Federico Garcia Arias, Creative Director, Frontera London

Born and raised in Argentina, Federico has spent the last 12 years having fun as a Creative Art Director in Buenos Aires, Madrid and London for agencies like Leo Burnett, McCann, Wunderman, Y&R and Cheil.

He worked and collected international awards as an Art Director for brands including: Samsung, Microsoft, Ford, Opel, Coca-Cola, Santander, Bayer and Boehringer Ingelheim among others. Now, as Creative Director in Frontera, he has the ambition to change the rules of healthcare advertising to build a creative industry that connects with what really matters: People.
